Las Coloradas
One of the main attractions of Yucatán, no doubt, are the pink lagoons called Las Coloradas, which are visited by tourists from all over the world every year. This is a magical site for those seeking contact with beauty and nature in its purest form!
Starting early in the morning, a comfortable van will pick you up and set a course for the first destination: Tizmín, where you will have time to have breackfast and to visit the Tres Reyes Magos old church. Las Coloradas is the second destination. The pink hues a result of microscopic algae create a magical landscape of contrasts. You will enjoy a guided tour of these salty lagoons before heading on to the next stop, an Alligators farm, where experts will show and explain about conservation of the reptiles on their natural habitat. After that, is time to relax and take a 2 hours boat ride at Río Lagartos Nature Reserve. A protected biosphere that is home to thousands of species of animals like pink flamingos, herons, pelicans, seagulls, eagles, frigate birds, and geese. With a bit of luck, you may even see a few crocodiles!
